🥗 Russian Salad (Basic)
Ingredients:
Vegetables:
- Carrots (Boiled & Diced) – 1 Cup
- Potatoes (Boiled & Diced) – 1 Cup
- Peas (Boiled) – 1 Cup
- Corn (Boiled) Optional – 1 Cup
- Green Beans (Boiled & Diced) Optional – 1 Cup
Fruits (optional):
- Pineapple (Diced) – 1/2 Cup
- Apples (Diced) – 1/2 Cup
For the Dressing:
- Mayonnaise – 1 Cup
- Fresh Herbs (Coriander or Parsley) Chopped for Garnish
- Salt – to taste
- Black Pepper – to taste
- Fresh Cream (for extra creaminess) Optional – 1/2 Cup
- Lemon Juice (Optional) – 1 tablespoon
Direction/Instructions:
Prepare the vegetables:
In a pot of boiling water, cook the potatoes, carrots, peas, and green beans until tender but firm. Drain and allow them to cool completely.
Combine Ingredients:
Combine the cooled vegetables, diced pineapple, and apples, if using, in a large mixing bowl.
Make the dressing:
In another bowl, thoroughly combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, fresh cream (if using), salt, and pepper.
Mix Everything:
Pour the dressing over the vegetable and fruit mixture. Fold everything together gently until the dressing is evenly distributed over the vegetables.
Chill:
Before serving, place the salad in the refrigerator for at least one hour. This enables the flavors to combine.

Instead of mayonnaise, you can use yogurt for a healthier version.
